Vested interests behind objections against Athirappili HE project - K RADHAKRISHNAN Former member, KSEB Certain agencies with vested interests have been unleashing false propaganda against all developmental pojects in the State and the ongoing protests against the proposed Athirappally hydro-electric project too are no different, former member of the Kerala State Electricity Board and energy expert K. Radhakrishnan has said. Talking to The Hindu , the former KSEB member (power generation) has welcomed the government’s move to reopen the hydro-electric project proposal which, according to him, will give sustainable boost to the State’s power sector without causing much harm to the forest eco-system. According to him, the dam to be constructed in a comparatively small storage area cannot do much harm either to the forests or the environment.
